Alexander Weiss from New York, New York was a contestant on the FOX series MasterChef Junior (2013) at the age of 13. Throughout the show he was always a top contender. Alexander ended up making it to the Finale along with his 12 year old opponent Dara, where he served basil lemon shrimp with heirloom tomato crostini for the appetizer, a pan-seared veal chop with potato gnocchi and butter sause for the entree, and a deconstructed cannoli Napolean for the dessert. It was then when Chef Gordon Ramsay declared Alexander the winner and title of America’s first MasterChef Junior along with the $100,000 prize.

 Since the show Alexander has been very busy starting his semi-professional cooking career now at the age of 14 all while continuing his education at his Junior High. He has been busy touring the country teaming up with top chefs such as Chef di Cucina Ian Gresik and Chef Graham Elliot to prepare meals in their restaurants. He has also been busy creating cooking demonstrations both live on television as well as on his private YouTube channel. The cannoli’s he made on the Finale grew to become his most popular dish. Alexander also joined on the first-ever MasterChef Culinary Cruise Event that took place November 8 - November 15, 2014. He joined other MasterChef winners and contestants including Courtney Lapresi, Luca Manfe, Christina Ha, Becky Reams, and Bri Kozior as they traveled with MasterChef fans partaking in live culinary exclusive activities. On the cruise Alexander put on a program to teach fans how to master one of his signature dishes, the macaroon. The cruise stopped in Grand Turk, San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas.
